How it can be used at home
A nonspeaking young adult with autism taps symbols on an iPad to tell their support staff 'I want to go outside' and 'I need a break.'
Notes and limits
iPad app. Speech needs the Speaking Upgrade ($9.99 a month on the App Store) after the trial. Optional page sets (Gateway, PODD, Metacom) are $4.99 a month each. Also runs on Tobii Dynavox eye gaze devices. Works best with support from a speech-language pathologist.
